Longstanding Family Farms to Be Recognized at Statehouse

On April 7, Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch and Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) Director Ted McKinney will be presenting Hoosier Homestead Awards to more than 40 farming families, recognizing their commitment to Indiana agriculture. The recongition begins at 1 p.m. in the South Atrium located at 200 W. Washington St., Indianapolis.

The Hoosier Homestead program is administered by ISDA and has recognized more than 5,000 farms since 1976. To be named a Hoosier Homestead, farms must be owned by the same family for more than 100 consecutive years; and consist of more than 20 acres or produce more than $1000 of agricultural products per year.
