Indiana Grain Buyers and Warehouse Licensing Promotions
Indiana Ag Connection - 06/28/2016

The Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) announced two promotions within the Indiana Grain Buyers and Warehouse Licensing Agency (IGBWLA). Ed Sheldon will be taking on the role of director of IGBWLA with Jacob Frazier serving as audit manager.

"Ed and Jacob are both dedicated individuals and have a deep understanding of the auditing process," said Ted McKinney, ISDA director. "They exemplify our department's commitment to the highest standards of integrity, and I'm confident they will serve Hoosiers and the industry well."

Prior to joining ISDA as a field auditor, Sheldon owned and operated a landscape management business for over 15 years. He also served as a Purdue Extension Agricultural and Natural Resources Educator for two Indiana counties.

In his new role as Director, Sheldon will be responsible for the overall management of the IGBWLA and will work with members of the grain industry to ensure the financial integrity of the grain marketing infrastructure. He will also serve as Chairperson of the Indiana Grain Indemnity Corporation Board of Directors.

"I greatly appreciate and look forward to the opportunities this position presents," Sheldon said. "Since my time with the agency, I have enjoyed being able to work with, and serve, agribusinesses and producers throughout the state, and I am eager to continue that service, as well as lead this team of dedicated individuals in my new role."

Frazier graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Agricultural Economics and joined ISDA in 2014 as a field auditor. In addition to conducting audits, he has been a crucial component to an agency-led initiative to increase the efficiency of the overall auditing process.

As Audit Manager, Frazier will be assigning and distributing audits while making sure all licensees and grain operations are being reviewed in a timely manner.

"I am very excited for this new opportunity to grow my career with the agency, and I look forward to still being able to get out in the field to conduct audits while working with Ed to make sure that all of our audits are carried out effectively and efficiently," Frazier said.
