Indiana Partners for Pollution Prevention Welcomes New Members

The Indiana Partners for Pollution Prevention (Partners) inducted four new members at its quarterly meeting. As members, each organization pledges to implement voluntary environmental initiatives at its facility, share information and expertise with other businesses, foster environmental stewardship among its employees, and help raise public awareness.

EnviroForensics is an environmental engineering, consulting and remediation design firm. They provide specialty environmental consulting services primarily to property and business owners, attorneys, municipalities, developers, banks, private equity firms, brokers and responsible parties. They are the nation's leader in applying historical coverage towards environmental liability. They are located in Indianapolis, Ind. and began operations in 1996.

Michigan City Sanitary District (MCSD) is responsible for the proper conveyance and treatment of wastewater, maintenance of all storm water systems and collection of all refuse in Michigan City, Ind. MCSD was the first to operate a compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling station in NW Indiana and CNG-Fueled Sewer Cleaning Machine in the State of Indiana. They hold the 2016 Partners for Clean Air Municipal Award for their commitment to Clean Fuels and other Air Pollution reduction initiatives. MCSD hosts an annual Conference on the Environment each June.

Caterpillar Reman Powertrain, Indiana LLC has been rated as "Best in Class" remanufacturer of 9L and below diesel engines and components. They are located in Franklin, Ind. and have been in operation for 11 years. They are also a member of the Environmental Stewardship Program.

Toyota Boshoku Indiana (TBIN) produces interior automotive components for the Sienna (minivan) and Highlander (large SUV). Components primarily include plastic vehicle door panels (West plant) and automotive seat manufacturing and assembly (East plant). TBIN recently become a corporate member of the Environmental Stewardship Program.

These new members join 96 other Indiana businesses that have committed to the Partner Pledge. They also go above and beyond with their commitment to voluntary environmental initiatives. A Partners membership provides each company with opportunities to network with other industries, businesses, nonprofit organizations and governmental entities which share an interest in pollution prevention. They also will benefit from learning about the financial and environmental benefits of pollution prevention projects from the Partners organization. Partners hold quarterly meetings and an annual conference and trade show, enabling members to exchange ideas, receive updates on regulations, and hear pollution prevention success stories.
