Sander to Perform 'Origins' July 30
Indiana Ag Connection - 07/28/2016

Storyteller Bob Sander will perform "Origins" the foundational story behind the 100-year-old Indiana State Parks system on July 30, at Pokagon State Park. The program is at 7:30 p.m. at the nature center.

This year marks the 100th birthday for Indiana State Parks and the 91st birthday for Pokagon. The system began in 1916 with the openings of McCormick's Creek and Turkey Run state parks.

The program will recount the dramatic story of Indiana State Parks' historic beginning. The tale will be accompanied by video clips that include images of Indiana's natural environments and interviews with key people.

This event is free after paying the standard park entrance fee of $7 per in-state vehicle or $9 per out-of-state vehicle.

For more information, call (260) 833-2012. Pokagon State Park (stateparks.IN.gov/2973.htm) is at 450 Lane 100 Lake James, Angola.
