Dubois-Perry-Spencer Greener Pastures Field Day Set

A variety of livestock, forage, and grazing topics will be presented at the 2016 Greener Pastures Field Day, presented by Purdue Extension and Soil and Water Conservation Districts in Dubois, Perry and Spencer Counties.

The program will be held August 23rd, beginning at 6:00 PM EDT/5:00 PM CDT, at the Marion McMurtrie Trust Farm in Dubois County. The farm is located at 7827 W. Old Road 64, Holland, IN 47541.

Topics and speakers include "Alternative Feed Sources -- Annuals, Cover Crops and Crop Residues" by Dr. Jeffrey Lehmkuhler, University of Kentucky, "Livestock Watering Systems" by Robert Zupancic, USDA NRCS, "Pasture Renovations" by Bret Winsett, Hood River Seed, and "Heavy Use Area Construction" by Susannah Hinds, USDA NRCS. The mealtime topic will focus on the interesting history behind the McMurtrie Farm.
