INFB Welcomes New Public Policy Director
Indiana Ag Connection - 07/07/2020

Indiana Farm Bureau welcomed Andy Tauer as INFB's new director of public policy. In addition to leading the public policy team, Tauer is responsible for the overall management of policy at the local, state and national levels on behalf of Farm Bureau members.

"Indiana Farm Bureau is an organization that has built a strong grassroots network that has the ability to take ideas from members and turn those into actionable outcomes for the betterment of agriculture," said Tauer. "I'm excited for this next chapter and to be part of INFB's public policy team. The team is highly respected not only at the local level but also at the Statehouse and in Washington D.C. This all translates into being a part of an organization and team that makes a positive difference in the lives of its members."

Tauer comes to INFB from Indiana Soybean Alliance, where he served as the executive director of soy aquaculture alliance and director of livestock and aquaculture for the corn and soybean checkoff. In that role, he oversaw the development of aquaculture research projects, strategic and financial management of the program, and representing the Soybean Alliance at national and international meetings to increase the demand for soy.

He holds a bachelor's degree in agriculture from Western Kentucky University, and is a graduate of the Indiana Ag Leadership Program.

Tauer is filling the role previously held by Katrina Hall, who recently became INFB's senior director of policy strategy and advocacy. In that role, Hall will help identify the important emerging issues impacting agriculture and rural Indiana. She also will focus on Farm Bureau's strategy for developing future policy positions to address the most critical agriculture issues.
