Patoka Lake 2016-17 Special Waterfowl Hunt Dates

Patoka Lake's waterfowl resting areas (WRAs) east of Walls Boat Ramp and the Allen Creek finger are only open to waterfowl hunting and boat traffic on select days during the year.

The days that they will be open for hunting and boating during the 2016-2017 waterfowl season are:

--Oct. 22-23: Youth waterfowl hunting weekend.

--Oct. 29-31: Ducks and geese.

--Nov. 5-6 and Nov. 27: Ducks and geese.

--Dec. 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 17, 21, 24, 28 and 31: Ducks and geese.

--Jan. 2, 5, 8, 11 and 14: Ducks and geese.

--Jan. 21, 22, 28 and 29: Geese.

Sycamore Creek WRA is closed to waterfowl hunting and boating at all times between Nov. 1 and Feb. 1.

Patoka Lake lies within Indiana's south zone for waterfowl hunting.

Non-toxic shot is required by law. Shooting hours are from one-half hour before sunrise to sunset.

Hunters must use the self-service hunter check stations daily. Maps for check stations can be picked up at the Patoka Lake Headquarters.
